Assistant/Associate Professor Position

POSITION: Tenure-track faculty position in Student Development in Higher Education for the Counselor Education Program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in higher education/student affairs, or Counselor Education with an emphasis in higher education/student affairs or closely related field, with experience in Student affairs/higher education administration/leadership. Successful experiences as a student development educator/counselor or student affairs administrator; potential for or a record of scholarly/creative activity appropriate to rank; successful professional and life experiences in multicultural/multilingual settings; ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: University teaching, supervision, and student advising. Knowledge and experience in the profession, e.g., student affairs administration, leadership, counseling, and consultation; Ability to develop and implement strategies for student development programs and services. Involvement with professional higher education/student affairs associations and counseling organizations. Knowledge of CAS and other professional standards.

DUTIES: Teach courses, supervise practica, fieldwork and theses in graduate certificate and master’s programs in counseling, student development in higher education and community college; recruitment, advisement and retention of culturally and linguistically diverse students; develop program relations with area college and universities, including internships and fieldwork placements; maintain a program of scholarly activity; develop and manage instructionally related grants; participate in university and community service.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with academic rank.
