Assistant Professor in Student Affairs
Tenure-Track Position

The Eugene T. Moore School of Education at Clemson University seeks highly qualified candidates to fill a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Student Affairs academic preparation program. The nine-month appointment will be effective for Fall 2008. Summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding. Committee review of applications will begin February 1, 2008 and continue until the position is filled.
Qualifications

• Doctorate in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counselor Education or related field
• Ability to teach graduate courses in student affairs/higher education administration, college student development, student affairs practicum and internship, assessment, and research
• Teaching experience at the graduate level
• Evidence of scholarly and research competence as well as interest in external funding
• Significant experience as a full-time student affairs practitioner with increasing responsibility
• Active participation and service in national, regional, or state in professional organizations
• Appreciation and understanding of the use of information technology in student affairs
• Interest in study abroad experiences for student affairs practitioners

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the Student Affairs masters program – some may be taught off-campus, online or by videoconferencing
• Advise masters and doctoral students
• Serve on doctoral committees
• Service to the department, college and university
• Engage in research, publication, seeking external funding and other scholarly activities
