Assistant Professor Position Available

Assistant Professor (tenure track) in field of student affairs1 higher education with an emphasis in
student services in intercollegiate athletics. Position is in the Department of Special Education,
Counseling, and Student Affairs.
Responsibilities include: teaching graduate courses in college student personnel and research
methods (on-line or face-to-face); advising and mentoring graduate students; teaching graduate
students how to coordinate support services and resources on behalf of student athletes;
collaborating with staff in Department of Intercollegiate Athletics; coordinating practica;
conducting scholarly research; seeking external funding; helping to recruit graduate students;
participating in college and university service.
Required qualifications:
1. Earned doctorate in student affairs, higher education, counseling, psychology, or
sports psychology;
2. Strong potential for or established record of published research and external
funding;
3. Experience with diverse populations;
4. Knowledge of issues related to intercollegiate athletics;
5. Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication and inter-
agency/department collaboration.
6. Knowledge of theories of student development.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Teaching experience;
2. Experience in developing and teaching on-line courses;
3. Experience integrating technology into the classroom;
