Responsibilities The position is Assistant/Associate Professor of Higher Education Leadership is a nine month, tenure track position to begin August 2008. Summer teaching may be available. Program responsibilities will include teaching and advising at the Macon and Atlanta campuses. Responsibilities include the following: effective teaching and advising; higher education leadership curriculum development and program design; supervising internships; and active participation in higher education leadership professional development and leadership activities. The successful candidate will be a community role model who will foster an environment of professionalism, collaboration with higher education representatives and university faculty, and advocacy for higher education leadership within the university and community at large.

Qualifications The Tift College of Education is seeking colleagues committed to student success with the following qualifications:
- Earned doctorate (completed at the time of hire) in Higher Education Leadership or closely related field from an accredited university/college
- Experience and knowledge of research-based teaching in the field of educational leadership
- Interest in at least two of the following areas: Organizational Behavior, Human Relations, Higher Education Budget and Finance, Higher Education Politics and Policy Development, Internal and External Relations, Technology Application and Instruction; Foundation of Basic Research, Pedagogy, Adult Learning.
- Ability to work with practicing higher education administrators and politicians
- Ability to conduct and publish results of scholarly activities
- Experience in a leadership position in Higher Education
- Experience working with Higher Education institutions
- Evidence of effective communication, interpersonal and technology skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching and advising experience at the graduate level and through distance delivery
- Evidence of scholarly study or research endeavors
- Experience in higher education leadership graduate programs
- Knowledge and skill in competency-based portfolio development for graduate students
- Experience with leadership assessment
- Experience in advising and/or directing doctoral dissertations.
