Position Description Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
- Major/Essential Functions Teach graduate coursework in higher education administration (universities and/or community colleges).
- Advise masters and doctoral students.
- Supervise doctoral dissertations and serve on doctoral committees.
- Demonstrated efforts in peer reviewed scholarly or creative activities.
- Develop distance education coursework.
- Teach distance delivered classes.
- Conduct peer reviewed research and in some cases secure funding for research.
- Provide professional and university service.
Occasional Duties
Qualifications Terminal academic degree (or its equivalent) as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Ability to teach effectively. Promise of growth in teaching, research and creative activity and service.
Preferred Qualifications Required Qualifications: An earned doctorate in educational administration/leadership with an emphasis in higher education. Expertise in one or more of the following: student service administration, community college administration, or general higher education. A record of activity in professional organizations pertaining to higher education institutions. A willingness to teach in distance delivered programs in higher education.Preferred Qualifications: Administrative experience in a higher education institution. Experience working on doctoral committees and supervising doctoral dissertations.
