Assistant/Associate Professor in Educational Administration, position number 85195, University of Hawaii at Manoa (in Honolulu), College of Education, tenure track, general funds, 9-month appointment, to begin August 2008, subject to position clearance, program needs, and availability of funds.
Duties: Contribute to the department's mission of preparing leaders and scholars in higher education institutions, with responsibility to teach in at least two of the following higher education content areas: leadership and governance, diversity, history, law, finance, policy, community colleges, and student affairs; teaching off-campus is required; engage in distance education and course development via a variety of distance delivery modes; participation in school-university partnerships is encouraged; advise diverse students in master's and doctoral programs; maintain an active program of research and publications in the area of higher education; work collaboratively within the college, university, and state; participate in department, college, university, and community service. Minimum
qualifications: Assistant: Doctorate in higher education or closely related field, teaching expertise in at least two of the areas of responsibility listed above and evidence of research productivity. Associate: Same as assistant plus four years experience teaching in a graduate level higher education administration program at the rank of assistant professor or equivalent, and record of publication and scholarly work appropriate to associate professor rank. Desirable qualifications: Administrative experience in higher education; experience teaching graduate level courses; experience with online teaching and technology; established research, grant writing, and publication record; experience directing thesis and dissertation projects; and a clear and deeply considered teaching philosophy. Pay range: Commensurate with qualification and experience. To
