ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS(2 Tenure Track Positions)
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the College of Education at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for two positions of Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure-Track) of Adult and Higher Education (EDAH). These positions will support existing program emphases, including but not limited to Higher Education (Administration, Student Personnel Services, and Intercollegiate Athletics Administration) and Adult Education (Training and Development, Continuing Education and Distance Education). The individuals we seek will have expertise in the any of the following areas: community college administration, financial management, technology, organizational development, adult learning theory, and research methodology. The Adult and Higher Education program offers both master's and PhD degrees and the persons selected will teach only graduate-level courses. The successful candidates will be expected to serve on doctoral committees and earn membership on the Graduate Faculty so as to be qualified to chair doctoral committees. Qualifications
Required. The successful candidate will possess earned doctorate in Adult Education or Higher Education Administration, with particular emphasis and expertise in the areas noted above; a commitment to activities appropriate to a research-intensive institution; a willingness and ability to work with graduate students and colleagues in a collegial manner; and a commitment to diversity and multicultural understanding.
Preferred. Special consideration will be given to applicants with expertise in, and experience with community college administration, financial management, organizational development, and instructional technology; a record of scholarly activity including publication and application for external research funding; experience teaching at the graduate level; and experience in the development of graduate-level courses.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to establish and pursue an active research and publication agenda; participate in program area, department and college activities; teach existing and new courses in the emphases noted; advise master's and Ph.D. students; work collaboratively with colleagues across the campus and in other institutions as appropriate; and provide professional service in appropriate regional, national, and international organizations.
