TITLE: Assistant Professor, College Student Personnel
Department: Human Development & Family Studies

The Department of Human Development and Family Studies is accepting applications for an academic-year, tenure-track position with a preferred starting date of 01/02/08.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Teach courses and supervise student research in the College Student Personnel master's degree program. Maintain a focused research agenda related to student affairs in higher education. Participate in committees, program development, student advising, and professional service. Contribute to the department's undergraduate program in human development & family studies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Earned doctorate in college student personnel/student affairs, higher education administration or related field (ABD applicants will be considered, but initial appointment will be at the instructor rank, and all degree requirements must be complete by 8/25/08.); background in adult development applied to higher education settings; experience with multicultural college students; evidence of teaching in a collegiate setting; demonstrated ability to conduct research related to higher education with ability to produce scholarly publications; fulltime professional work experience in college student affairs; involvement in higher education professional associations. Preferred: Record of scholarship in student affairs in higher education; demonstrated teaching excellence with diverse college student personnel graduate students; evidence of the use of technology in teaching, research or professional practice; involvement in ACPA or NASPA at the national level; expertise in one or more of the following: multicultural competence, leadership theories, group or organizational development, administrative practices in higher education, assessment and evaluation in collegiate settings, quantitative research methods.
