Position: Assistant Professor, Higher Education (posting #071174) This position is a full-time, tenure track, academic year appointment, with a starting date of August 10, 2008.
Position Responsibilities: Developing/maintaining a systematic line of research and scholarship in the field; securing external funding; teaching and advising students who are seeking an M.A.Ed. or Ph.D. in higher education; serving on examining and dissertation committees; developing one or more courses on diversity issues in higher education; collaborating with other faculty in the department and the School of Education.
Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate in higher education, student affairs, or a closely related field of study; expertise in diversity studies; the ability to apply current qualitative and/or quantitative research skills to contemporary problems in education; and experience as an administrator in a college or university setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior graduate-level teaching and academic experiences with culturally diverse populations are strongly preferred.
Ability to teach survey courses about multicultural issues, the evolution of the profession and/or outcomes assessment.Review of applications will begin December 14, 2007 and will continue until the position is filled. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
