Higher Education Leadership: The Department of Educational Leadership Studies in the College of Human Resources and Education at West Virginia University invites nominations and applications for a tenure-track faculty position (assistant or associate professor) in higher education. We expect the successful candidate to provide intellectual leadership through teaching, advising, and research to our existing master's and doctoral programs. In addition, the successful candidate will provide service to relevant national professional organizations, the College, and the University. Required Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned doctorate in higher education or closely related field. Consideration can be extended to candidates who are enrolled in a doctoral program with the understanding that completion of the doctorate by the time of the appointment, August 16, 2008, will be a condition of hiring. Applicants should have a record of research and publication in refereed journals or substantial evidence of potential for success as a scholar in key areas of higher education and should have experience as an administrator. Desirable Qualifications: Candidates with graduate teaching experiences in academic administration, governance in higher education, assessment, and higher education administration are desired. Candidates should demonstrate a record of presentations at local, regional, and national higher education conferences; participation in grant and contract development; and experience and success in teaching via distance education or other innovative technologies.
