Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership

Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership at Wingate University's School of Graduate and Adult Education at the Metro campus in Matthews, North Carolina, has an immediate opening for a faculty position responsible for coordinating and teaching educational leadership cohorts. The position is a 9 month appointment, and may include summer school teaching for additional compensation. Candidates should have a record of successful teaching, scholarship and service sufficient to qualify for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in educational leadership/administration and be eligible for appointment to the graduate faculty.

Qualifications: a doctorate in education or a related field with an emphasis on leadership for public schools and/or higher education settings; current North Carolina Educational Leadership license or endorsement (other states with reciprocity is acceptable); highly experienced leader with recent and credible experience in administrative / instructional/ curricular levels in executive levels which may include principal or superintendent; experience in K-12 public school, community college, and/or university settings; an active record of scholarship in candidate's field; ability to lead doctoral dissertations; experience in teaching graduate level courses related to educational leadership and/or research methodology; and a background for and commitment to the preparation of graduates who can develop and lead educational organizations in an increasingly complex, interdependent world. Preferred qualifications: experience with in K-12 Educational leadership, administration or curriculum and instructional leadership.

Responsibilities: To coordinate and teach graduate educational leadership/curriculum and instructional leadership courses to cohorts; mentor and advise students, teach doctoral level courses, maintain a research and scholarship agenda, chair and serve on dissertation committees, supervise doctoral internships in field settings and be involved in professional service activities.
